I'm getting ready to do SYE on my 90Jimmy. I wanted opinions on going with synthetic being that 700rs r known to overheat. I'm figuering it wouldnt hurt and it would be cheap insurance. However I'm no mechanic and this is my first project truck. Motor is a stock with headers and tranny is a fairly new stock GM. Any pros and cons appreciated. :D

Syn fliud will work fine. It stands up to heat better. But. I would still change the fluid once a year no matter what you use. Heat also affects and breaks down the additives causing slippage and the generation of more heat.
