tranny gearing has...

.... anybody round here put lower gearing in their th400? what is this worth? anybody have any luck with this ? or should i just put corvette servos and clutch pack and shtuff into my 700r4, and id still have the lower gearing? its going into the blazer with the following.....

-> 350/ ?tranny?/ twin sticked 205/ d60 4.10 14bolt 4.10 detroit/ 38.5x16x16.5 swampers.... any thoughts? im going to change the gear ratio to 4.56 0r 4.88, and a new 350 in the spring.....thanks...... :wave:

Many will say ditch the 700r4 , I won't . Take care of it and it will be fine . I actually perform well on the trails I have run , even with 3.08's and 33's ( 3.73 now ) . The lower first does make a difference , all other things being equal .

have you made any mods to your 700r? or just stock?

Was done before I bought it , truck had 88,000 on it , I have over 140,000 on it now .

All I have done with it is drive it everyday , wheeled on it with no cooler for 3 years , wheel on it with a cooler and 33's for a year , leave it in OD all the time after the 3.73 gears added . And changed the oil 24,000 miles ago
