Let's play a game called " id this tranny"

Known facts:

Mated to a 7.4 l29 motor in a 1999 dually Chevy

2wd setup

Supposedly all original

Rumor says it is an Allison

Its a 4spd according to the steering column selector

I don't know trannies well enough to know for sure.

Once we figure out what I got here the next question is: needs to go into a 4wd setup, possible? Obstacles? Etc...

Thanx everyone for your help.

no allison .

4l80-e

pan looks weird cause clearance forms in the back for late model crossmember clearance problems on some vehicle styles.

An Allison looks completely different than that. Allisons are a beast and look nothing like the TH's that GM put out.

Definitely a 4L80E as I have a 454 Vortec and 4L80E from a '99 truck.

Here's another Allison !...:D..wouldn't one of these coupled to an Allison tranny be cool for a 4x4 ?...

the Allison is the only light duty truck trans w/ a spin on filter
