hey all, looking for any guesses on what might be causing a slight grinding sound when I initially press the gas pedal going over 30-35ish, and a slight grind when I let it off at the same speed. Never happened under 30, and it's not right after a new gear, it's actually right before one at some times and right after at others. the speed at which it happens isn't consistent, but it does always happen.

I've been doing a lot of small improvements, have a buddy that works on cars quite a bit, he can't figure out what it is. his best guess is the tranny is going to need to be rebuilt to fix it, but he's not certain because it's not clearly one specific gear.

I've replaced the transmission filter and fluid, it's at the right level. any ideas?

Check your exhaust, it might be rubbing on something and it will be rubbing when the exhaust vibrates from you changing the flow accelerating or decelerating.
It also might have a lose connection.
I doubt it's your tranny, but there is a slim chance it is, but my guess it's the exhaust.

I'll get under it this weekend to check it out, that makes sense to me... the exhaust is pretty horrible

to clarify, what I mean by slight grinding is that it's short. it's about 3/4 of a second long, but it's loud enough to notice even if youre sitting in the passenger seat, and I can definitely feel it in the pedal
