Alright while my truck is awaiting floorboards I'm changing all the fluids and doing a good tune up. This brings me to the tranny it leaks around the pan its rusty and needs replacing would like to replace it with a rather inexpensive unit the auto value in town quoted me 37 for a chrome deal so something in that range. Also while I have the pan dropped what else should I replace on the transmission filters etc.

If you plan on keeping your tranny set-up for a long time, invest in a drain plug for your pan (if you don't buy a pan with a drain already installed).
They're about $12.00 at a parts store.
And makes draining the fluid a lot easier.

This pan thats on there is BAD and needs replacing im just asking what is an inexpensive option what is everyone using. Excuse my newbishness but where is the tranny filter located is it like an oil filter or is it in the pan?

it will be a screen in your pan itself. I would not gt a chrome pan I would look for a not too expensive extra capacity pan with a drain built into it maybe from summit racing.

I agree with the aluminum and I was walso talking about a extra deep pan, that holds about 2 extra quarts for fluid. Little more expensive but better insurance imo
