Hello,
Would real low fluid cause a truch not to move? I just got my engine and tranny in a few weeks ago. I put 5 Q of fluid in the tranny. I put it into drive and nothing happend. I could hear a real faint sound like a humming sounds that would stop when I put it in drive.
What is going on?
Thanks
Adam

yes low fluid will cause a tranny not to move. Trying to drive it can mess up the tranny. Gm trannys take around 12 quarts. When you fill make sure to check the fluid level when it is running and move the selector through all ranges so all the passages in the valve body will get fluid to them

The humming sound could be the front pump starving for fluid.....fill that tranny before attempting to drive it or you will burn it up.
