Tranny question

Trying to find out if i have the nv4500 or nv3500. The RPO code is MG5, i think it's the 4500 but not sure. It's in my 99 silverado 1500.

It doesn't say , but it does say 4.02:1 first for your code , while mt1 and mw3 are 5.61:1 trannies

It shows the 88-96 trucks as nv3500 with mg5 code , I am curious so I am gonna find out more

Ok theres no way to confuse a nv3500 and nv34500

The top pic is the 3500? my tranny looks like the tranny on top there.

ok pretty sure it's the 3500....the truck has a 261 t-case and 4.10 gears from the factory so i wasn't sure if it was the 4500 or not...didn't figure so in the 1500 but i was suprised it had a 261 and 4.10 gears!!
