So I was wondering what it takes to convert my '77 Blazer running a 400ci TH350 and NP203 to a overdrive tranny like a 700R or something beefier. I'm sure someone has done it but I can't find any articles that say what it takes. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Easiest way would be to buy a 700 and a 241 t/case from same truck. get the cross member and mounts too along with the tie rod. You'll have to sort out a shifter, maybe a floor shifter? Bowtie overdrives or similar can fix you up with a lock up converter controller. Use a cooler with the 700. Custom propshafts will be needed. Speedo will have to be addressed but there's different ways of doing this depending on what t/case you use. If you do a search you should find plenty on this swap as it has been covered plenty. It makes for a great driving truck with good ratios in the trans and t/case but it won't be cheap. 700 that have been abused don't last long. TV cable settings is paramount. And that's another thing you'll need to address, again bowtie overdrives should be able to help with proper brackets for your carb.
Hope that points you in the right direction. Good luck.
