I have a 90' k5 with bad tranny, will a tranny out of a 95' 2wd suburban fit? They are both auto.

You will still have 4 wheel dr as the transfer case provides that, but the 2wd trans will be somewhat weaker as far as the outer case is concerned. My old blazer wheeled for a long time with a 2wd trans. It just needs to be the same trans as what your taking out so the adapter will match, otherwise you will be looking for an adapter as well. also measure the tail piece(or the trans you have and match it to the one you are getting) because there are several lengths and it will through off the cross member location and the drive shaft lengths. just a couple of things to consider

No. your blazer is a 700R-4 the 95 is a 4L60-e.

and 700r4 = full external controls like kick down cable and lockup convortor controls.

4l60-e = full computer control of tranny.

also i would not trust a 4l60-e or 700r4 used. seen way to many of these oh its good then install and its junk.

best just get yours redone or parts store overthe counter reman with a warrenty.

Thanks for the advice, my tranny has no rev and it shifts very hard out of 1st thur 3rd and won't stay in od. Is it completely destroyed? The k5 is worth $1500.00 when it was running is it worth fixing?

reman tranny only will be around 1500. so then its 3k blazer only worth 1500 .

unless you want it as a play toy.

also could do a th350 swap and use a fitzall spacer kit and swap out the 700 . might be cheeper. but still lot of cash for 1500 blazer.
