So when I seperated the 454 and 4L80E I was surprised to find the torque converter had 6 bolts holding it in, this was new to me everytime I have done an engine it only had 3 bolts. I know there was only 3 when I did the TH400 swap in the blazer but cant remember if it was able to take 6 or only three.
Anyway here is the question, the burban has a TH400 in it now, will it bolt up to the 454 as is or will I have to change the flexplate or torque converter? Will the three bolt arrangement align with 3 of the six holes on the 454 flexplate as is.......hmmmm I think that might be the case..........I hope, anybody know for sure?

it will be fine. I have 6 bolt torque converters from th400s also. they are usually from diesels. furnace brazed insides (edit: and torrington bearings) and a very low stall rpm. the 3 bolt ones work fine with the flywheel.
