Hey guys, quick question... Im not finding a clear answer in my hanes manual... What is the fluid capacity of the TH350 with filter change??? Seems like I remember it being 9 - 10 qts, but not sure... Also gonna change fluid in the transfer case... The NP208 uses ATF also right, and how much???

3-4 quarts is all your going to get in there by dropping the pan, but fully dissambled, they are 9-10 quarts.

This all depends on which trans pan he has, there is a standard pan and a factory deep truck pan and then there are even aftermarket pans that hold even more than the factory deep pan.

I'll get a few extra quarts just to be sure... Ill just put the extras in the garage in case its needed later...

Yes, ATF for 208 transfer case. Nice rig by the way:waytogo:

Thanks

Put the extra quarts IN the truck somewhere!!--I have been so ticked off before,to find out I need some ATF and know I have some --BACK in the GARAGE!..:doah:..

Its not much good if its not with you!...nothing worse than having a dozen quarts at home you bought on sale cheap, and now you must pay a kings ransome at some self serv gas station just to get home..

I always try to keep at least a quart of ATF and oil in my truck, especially when I'm plowing with it...never know when a tranny line might leak,or the plow pump needs fluid,etc..

Lately I have been putting all the "spare parts" I have in my truck box for the same reason--that spare altenator and starter wont help you if its sitting on a shelf in your garage...one day I had an altenator seize up on one truck I had--I had at least 6 of them stashed away in my garage!--lot of good they did me there!...luckily I found one from a friend who lived not that far from where mine died, and I just gave him one of my spares after I got home..I put my old worn draglink, spare U-bolts ,etc in the box too,and a few U-joints...might as well keep them with the truck where they might be usefull...

According to my owners manual the NP208 takes 5 quarts of ATF.

Really? I thought they took 3... I cant remember when i regasket mine, but I thought it came out of the top plug with about 3 qts in, i may be wrong that was a while ago.

Thanks guys, and yes I always carry spares in the back of an older vehicle, including a small well stocked tool bag...

I keep just the essentials in mine:whistle:

You know what? After having mine rebuilt and getting it back in the truck I only had 4 qts in the garage. After getting them all in it wasn't full. Had to run down to the quickeemart and grab one overpriced quart to get it full. I don't think it took that full quart either, maybe half to 3/4. But it was definitely more than 3.
