Im sure some of you have already done this idea, and it just struck me today after my Mudfest debacle. When your vent plugs on an automatic, it pukes large amounts of fluid out the dipstick and covers basically everything. Now, I know I should have ran it up to the firewall like a smart guy, and I have done this in the past. But, now you have the vent ran up, but overheating is still going to be a problem in the mud. Rock crawling maybe not so much. Anyways, if it overheats, it still pukes out of the vent, now ran up to the firewall, basically doing the same thing but on a smaller scale. So, a moment of long overdue brilliance struck me today. I just bought a copper elbow, and hose barb, drilled a hole in the dipstick at the top, and threaded the fitting in. Hooked the hose up to it and viola. Now, in the eventual overheat it will get, instead of puking it all over and causing a potential fire, it just pukes it back down the dipstick, never getting all over, and never running the risk of a low fluid level burning up the clutches in the process. Just a thought for some of you, as I seen pics of guys running the vents up and putting a little filter on top.
