Where do I find the correct crossmember for putting 454/th400/205 in place of my 350/350/205 in the K5, and doing the opposite in the K30??? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

PS-thanks for the help earlier today on the motor mounts....the planets are now in alignment /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

AFAIK the crossmember should be the same. you may have to drill some holes in the frame.

The frames are different widths, and the x-member in the K30 looks like a "W" and the K5 one is flat aside from the slight dip below the frame. I think I could fanagle the K5 member to work, but the one in the K30 isn't wide enough at the top of the "W" to accomodate the TH350 adapter I don't think.
Of course, this is a first for me, so I'm scared to screw anything up trying to "fix" it.

The frames are the same widths. Use the K5's crossmember though anyway.

sorry, didn't know what year the k30 was

they should be the same width. the crossmember needs to stay with the same adapter.

Oh yeah, K30 is an '85.

You're going to have to use the K30's crossmember then most likely. You have the flat style crossmember now, and the newer one uses the newer round pattern adapter which will have its own crossmember.
