Got a question...hopefullysomeone can help. When I drive my truck on OD, it vibrates. When I drop in into 3rd or D, it stops. Is that the sign of a tranny going sour?? No vibes what-so-ever in 1, 2, or D. Just OD. Thanks

Never knock on DEATH's door. Ring the bell and run...he hates that!!!!

Could be the torque converter clutch or solenoid. Someone else mentioned their corvette had a "shudder" kind of feel to it. I suggested disconnecting the electrical plug off the drivers side of the transmission. Warning? That creates extra heat in the transmission, and so don't do it for a long period of time. Just get the vehicle warm, unplug the connector, and test drive again, under the same conditions that it normall vibrates in. If it ONLY does it in OD, it is more than likely tranny, because speed or RPM would indicate things like tires, driveshaft, etc., which you already figured out.

Try it and let me (us) know if the problem disappears.
