okay, about a week ago i thought i had blown my transfer case and now i have it out of the truck and i have a replacment ready to be swapped in , but just to make sure my problem isnt the tranny . what kind of in truck tests can i do to reasure that its not a tranny proble, it seems to shift up and down the colum like normal, and when i put it in drive it rotaited out the back. oh and its in a 1987 k5 with a 700r4

I would check for leaks, cracks, and then drop the pan to check for shavings, clutch material, And put a new filter while your in there if its all good.
