Finally got my 78 k5 blazer running but the top trans cooler line is leaking. I want to add a trans cooler anyways as I want to do some off-roading and help keep the transmission cool.

Its a th350 transmission with a champion https://www.championradiators.com/product/CC716 radiator. On the site they claim Transmission Cooler Included (1/2" -20 STRAIGHT THREAD).

I am trying to find a barb that screws into the radiator then provide a 5/16 barb so I can go rubber line from radiator to trans cooler. I am struggling to find a fitting, I called summit and they could only find a npt fitting which seems to big. What is the correct fitting?

I've just used a 5/16" brake tubing section and put a bubble flare on the hose end instead of hunting for fittings..some carbs used the same 1/2" x 20 thread with a flare like the brass one pictured..
Pays to keep these kinds of trinkets when you scrap or swap parts from your trucks..saves much time hunting for them "new".
