Trans help

Just rebuilt a 4l60e (1st time) and mid rebuild my parts table collapsed sending pretty close to a billion organized parts flying across garage. So goes my life.

Anyway after the build was complete and trans installed The Blazer wont go forward in OD 3 2. In 1st gear it goes forward with a little slippage when a little throttle is applied. Reverse works fine.

Any ideas? my research keeps pointing towards a sprag being installed bacwards. Just wanted a second opinion from someone who actually knows

Could be anything from a barked seal to a snap ring not installed properly or when installing the pump the sealing rings could have got damaged.If you tear it down you should find where it went wrong.

That would have been something to see. I can tell you exactly what my reaction would have been.

Only thing the video would show was my 6 yr old daughter laying across my snowmobile seat eyes as big a grapefruit (since 2 days earlier I threatened her and her two brother to keep all baseballs basketballs bicycles and hands as far away from those parts as possible).

Oh yeah and me background saying a few things that 6 yr old ears should NEVER hear. DefinAtly broadened her vocabulary on that day.

I have started tearing back down and will check it out. I really appreciate the info. There's a lot more going on in this thing than my t350. Which way will the sprag "lock up".

If that's the problem, my friend I owe you a 6 pack of your favorite brew.

Holding the sprag assembly in your hand, with the large race facing up, the race should freewheel to the right (clockwise) and lock to the left(counter clockwise).

Well I'm not sure if anything else is wrong but the sprag was indeed in backwards. You my friend are a life saver. And you drink of choice is what? I'll have it there asap.
