Between the distributor and the carb.......that's where my 77' comes from the factory.......I really don't think it matters where the vacuum comes from.
The vac line running to the modgulator on the trans, dose usally run from a T in the intake manifold behind the carb. But it realy dose not matter were it comes from as long as it's a manifold vac sorce and not venturie vac sorce. to test for manifold vacume install a vac gage or your finger over a vac port and with the engine ideling you should have vac, when you snap the throtle the vacume will droop off sharply.
