I picked up a trans the other day and tag 3TAD I’ve checked everywhere on info and can’t find info from the numbers I think it’s 04 any sure fire way to decode tag . Thanks for your help

I typed gm transmission 3tad in my phones google and tons of info come up .

4L60-e is the unit . If stock and rebuilding plan on updates . And what is your planned use and how are you going to control it ?

Well, I punched it in also and I guess I’m somewhat confused of the results but I’m using a LQ9 out of an 04 Cadillac if I’m right on this 460 E it’s also out of a 04 which I have all the wiring for

It’s just funny that all the transmissions I see online have the 4L 60 E stamped right on it. This does not, but it has the tag and numbers.

And of course, the bell housing is not right as I need the one with the hole at 12 o’clock

You'll be ok without that hole.
I had my warmed up LQ4 bolted to an old style 4l80, without that hole, launching a suburban for 2 years. No issues.

Thank you will. Be in a short time to work all bugs out and then removed to be rebuilt
