Transfer Case Adapters

You can get the 400/205 adaptor brand new from GM for around $200. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Or call Boyce Equipment and shell out of your a$$ for a used one! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I'll let you know later today. I got another guy that e-mailed me before you posted so I have to give him first dibs. I might just get it anyway. Thanks.

I called Boyce yesterday. It went like this:

Boyce: "Yeah, I have a few used ones. I'm using them so I have to get $300 out of them so I can replace them with new ones."

Me: "So basically, you dont have any to sell."

Boyce: "Sure I do, for $300."

Me: "A that price, I'll just buy a new one from the dealer!"

Boyce: "Well...I guess so."

Boyce should change his name to Butt Raper!! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Sorry, Sandman has already spoken for the adapter and shifter. This along with a 350 version 205 transfer case is all you need to find.

Sorry!

Mike

350 version 205? the one from my 465 won't work?
This seems like an easy swap (once I collect the parts), I'm just having a hard time figuring out EXACTLY what I need.

There are quite a few different variations of 205 adaptors.

I'm posting a pic of the 3 popular adaptors, especially the 350-version. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The input shaft is different on the 205 for th350 and sm465. The 465 version has a male 10 spline input shaft. The th350 version has a female 27 spline input shaft. You would need to get the th350 4x4 tranny, a th350 to np205 adapter, and a np205 for a th350 (27 spline input). I have the th350 adapter and th350 np205 transfer case for sale, but I'm waiting to hear back from some one to see if they want it. If your interested, I will let you know if my other deal falls threw.

grrrr. Okay, I think I follow you. If I swap out my sm465 I will have to swap out my np205 (even though it has just been totally rebuilt??)
I won't even pretend to understand (yet) all this mumbo jumbo - what is the input spline? and can it be replaced? Can I keep my np205 and simple replace the input shaft?

Yes, I believe you can just change the input spline/shaft/gear, its all one piece.

Sorry for taking over your post Sandman /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

No problem. It looks like I got what I wanted. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

By chance do you happen to have the adapter still (205 to TH350)? I don't need the case but if your willing to sell the adapter I'd be interested.
