Alright boys,
'85 K5, NP208, 700R4....When I let off the gas and sometimes when I get on it, I hear a long grinding noise coming from the middle of the truck. It seems like there's play front to rear in the transfer case like maybe a retaining ring has come loose on that tail shaft. I took the tailshaft cover off and everything seems to be tight except for maybe a little play in the chain. When I put the case in (N) I can turn the tail shaft and sometimes it engages the chain and sometimes it doesn't?! Any suggestions on what the heck is goin' on! Thanks, Will
