I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about GM transfer cases and transmissions, but this is a new one. Driver's drop with a fixed yoke rear, flange front, PTO cover on one side--it was behind a TBI 454/NV4500 combo in a 1992 K3500 at the wreckers. Yes, I took the NV4500 too :-)

The tags on it are not legible, anyone?

In a Chevy with a fixed rear yoke and a PTO? I've never heard of a 241 with PTO.

Too lazy to clean them off? :D

:p: dern it, I rubbed it with my coat sleeve, isn't that good enough for you? :D

Might try again with some soapy water, since it looks like no-one knows . . .:doah:

It's a Borg Warner 4401 the K-3500's came with a stouter case than the rest of the GM line with the IFS.

Thanks Tom!! I've parted out a couple of K2500HD diesels and just assumed that a one ton case would be the same as what they put in those things. Now that I know what it is . . .

Borg Warner 4401 T-case for sale :D:haha::haha::haha::haha:

looks like a 241HD. the HD 241 has a PTO port. the light duty 241 has a thinner chain and no PTO port.

It was my understanding that GM never used the 241HD, Dodge used it in the Cummins trucks--correct me if I'm wrong . . .

Not that I'm interested in buying one, buy how much do these cases go for?

thats probably true, like they said. I don't know one way or the other. it just looks like a HD241 case. with the PTo and all.

i've got one of each too then. one BW in the crewcab and a 241LD from the dodge parts truck
