transfer case rear cone seal,

what do i have to do to change it, just pull the driveshaft and put a new one in?? or do i ahve to take the thing apart?

Are you talking about the seal at the tip of the cone where the driveshaft goes in?

Just take out the shaft and replace the seal, then put the shaft back in. I always put tranny fluid on the seal and shaft yoke before putting the shaft back in.

Can't help you there, never messed with that. Someone else will know... :ears:

I've never done this, but I'd imagine when you take it off that you can seal it up with rtv black... thats what everyone is telling me to use to put in between my 208 and the adapter. Although I dont know what in tails taking of that tail shaft cover.

I used RTV black when sealing the tailsection back onto the case, as long as you clean off all the tcase fluid you'll be alright.

the seal where the cone mounts to the case..

If it's an NP208 there is no gasket and the factory manual calls for RTV. I just had mine appart last summer and was supprised to learn that there was no factory gasket.
