A friend at work has a 79 K10 with the typical setup...350/t350/np203. Shortly after he got it(maybe a year ago) he removed the full time hubs and installed a part time kit from Warn.

Now in the last few weeks or so he's noticed that anytime he locks his hubs he gets a clicking noise coming from the transfer case. He has no idea what it is and I'm not so sure myself.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Andy

the sound you are hearing is the chain jumping on the sprockets in the transfer case going to the front drive shaft. The chain is worn out. I had already got a price for one around $400. It is not worth the money to replace the chain.I would suggest on putting in a known good unit in there or swapping it out for a np 205 case. this 205 case has gears in it instead of a chain.
