I am rebuilding an NP 208 transfer case I’ve sourced all the parts I need except for my planetary ring gear is a two piece and yes the shift Synkro part is plastic and it is super tore up I have only found one is very expensive I can find a lot of the ones where the shift part is metal can I use one of these if I switch the arm and the planetary assembly I hope that makes sense I am a self-taught mechanic and I am new to four by fours so I don’t know all of the proper terms if anyone could help I’ll be much appreciated

It sounds like you are needing the shift collar for the planetary which engages low range. The shift fork engages it and probably had plastic pads on the tips of the fork.
If you can't find one used, or a complete case to tear apart for what you need, then new is probably the only option. I haven't looked into parts for a 208 in years, so I don't know what is available.

The parts that you found would need to specify for the 208 case, not for a 241.
