Ok i have a 1990 k5 that came with a np241, i cracked it. local junkyard does not have it. so i put a 208 in it. well it makes some funny noises when u let off the gas and also since mine is electric and this is maunal i no longer have my speedo. so what i want to know is should i rebuild the 208 or find a 241. which one is stronger? if i get a 241 i will do the sye eliminator. i just want to see what you guys think. which is stronger. if they r the same then i will just deal with what i got. also how hard will it be to find

I don't know which is stronger but I'd assume they are about the same. Assuming they are, I'd build the 241 because it's out and you could drive the 208 until it's ready.

well the 241 is crack on 3 parts so its toasted. i want to know if i should repair this one or find a 241. can you do a sye on a 208?

i would find another 241, marginally stronger. and you can SYE it easily. a buddy of mine has a 208 that has been modified to have a fixed yoke. it can be done but you cant just buy an SYE kit for it.

Can a Ford 208 fixed output be adapted to a Chevy 208? If so, go with the 208 since you already have a working one, and get the speedo adapted. From what I have heard, the 241 is stronger than the 208. Or what about a 205?
