Transfer case ?

Close to 200 pounds

I have a plate that will bolt to the case so it stays in the Jack

Get yourself a transmission jack if you're going to replace it. And some good tie-downs to hold it to the jack. The tie down I have in the picture prevented it from hitting the ground when it slid off the jack.

I can tell you from experience they are heavy AF, 130-150lbs or so of not more. And they feel every bit of it. Might not seem much but it's awkwardly distributed, making it a bitch to install. Mine fell or rotated off the tranny jack the first attempt. Was sketchy as hell being under there. I tried to keep clear of the fall path while jacking it up.

another option is removing the tranny cover in the cab and using an engine hoist to pull it up. Either way, have someone else there as a safety precaution. And drain it before removing.

ya 12 bolt truck rear .....

but who molded the fender flairs to the body ? ? ? ...... 1980's show truck called and wants there mod back .

please fix her up the right way and show her off correctly .
I am surprised by this comment. Isn't it his truck, his choice?

It's not like he was asking what we thought about the fender flares.
It probably had a larger/wider tire and wheel combo on it in the past. Someone made it better to drive by going smaller.

I don't know if I have ever seen a 203 that clean before!

That green is different. Not bad just different as in never seen that color before. Like what

6872xtc said. Very clean.

Beat me before I could delete it.... u right. Of course, there's the age factor lol.
Gotta be worth 50 lbs!

203... but the more you search you'll see weights all over the place for the 203 and 205, so...

The fluid spec is what caught my eye. I've was told 20w50 with equal weights ATF.
I have 10w-30 in mine I believe or straight 30 weight, presently. But I forget exactly. I don't think it really matters as long as it not super think oil or gear oil or so I've read.

I just did a driveshaft/double cardan swap on my ‘74. That is a NP203, the pic is backwards for some reason?

I have the double cardan joint at the transfer case, bought the new yoke for it from Advance Adapters. Slip is at the diff now. I bought the driveshaft from Tom Woods. Make sure 100%, you know where and how they want you to measure. If you go this route, you’ll also need to rotate the rear axle up, to have the diff almost pointing directly at the T-Case, but lightly down. You can do this by removing/replacing your spring perches or maybe just use some larger shims. This is important as it will also change the length of your driveshaft measurement.

I have those same cut-out Bushwacker flares on mine, just riveted on, so they offer a contrast against the body and don’t make the fenders look so big. They look tons better with bigger/wider tires, I have 35-15.5 Swampers on a 12” wide wheel.
