with this basic info would you pick stock 205 1.96:1 ratio

jb conversions lowmax 205 kit for 3:1 ratio

or ord doubler kit with 203 2:1 ratio to 205 1.96:1 ratio.

I say the doubler. If down the road you can do the JB kit that will make it even better. Having the 1to1 for the snow on the street, 2to1 for higher speed mud and going from trail to trail at RC, and 4to1 for crawling and hitting the harder stuff.

i think it mainly depends on what you're gonna do with your truck. unless you're planning on it being a mainly trail truck I'd save up to lomax the 205. If you go doubler you have the added work of shifters, clearing the tunnel (if you wanna mount the tcases up high), driveshafts relengthened, crossmembers, etc... only to end up with a setup with a low of 3.92:1 and 2:1 low. If you lomax you get a 3:1 low, keep your driveshafts, uber strong tcase, no new crossmembers, no shifter relocation (or new shifters), and general overall less work. Now later on if you wanna go doubler you now have a great setup. You'll have a 2:1, 3:1, and a 6:1. Yeah, the 203/205 doubler can be cheaper, but then you gotta think of the labor, fab, and other miscellaneous parts. True if you have all the skills, equipment, and know how its a good option that yields it pros and is very cool. But personally I consider the lomax a better option and would also give you a much better foundation for the 203/205 (or 241/205 :D 8.16 ultimate low) if you decide to go that road later on. But it's all in what you want and how you wheel

+1. You will hate being stuck with a deep low range all of the time even with those tires. I love the versatility of a doubler, and there is a lot of times that I only use 1 low range even when I had my TBI 454/TH400. With your wheelbase, and weight not a real concern, doubler all the way.
