I have a leak where the transmission and the adapter bolt together, tried 2 different types of gaskets (liguid and regular), but it appears the bolt holes are stripped out on one side so it won't tigheten very well, any suggestion as to how to fix this problem, it's a SM465 trans and NP 205 transfer both are cast iron.

Drill out the holes and retap it. Use bigger bolts, or heli coil the bolt holes.

Clean the adaptor area real good and inspect it for cracks. The SM 465 to NP 205 adaptor is somewhat known for cracking. I've already repaired mine once. It sure looked like it was just leaking due to a bad gasket...
