Transmission builder recomendation

What parts are you breaking? Are they all dying the same way?

Might be time to start building your own. I've never been in a 4L60E, but have been in a 700R4, and it was surprisingly simple. Not being a driver, I would consider it myself.

Every time is different, this last one the case blew out on the side where the servo is that applys the band.

What caused the case to blow out, Hard part breakage? I've heard the 4L65E/4L70E, have the upgraded 5 pinion IIRC planetaries.

Edit: found the pic in your build thread, have you done a pressure test? Seems like weird place to have a failure. I'm certainly no expert, but can't think of another reason that would fail there, unless it was already fatigued.

Not sure, the trans still shifted fine just didn't have 4th due to the seal not sealing.

I have heard it's a common failure if a piece of dirt or something gets In there.

I thought we all had this discussion somewhere around transmission 2, maybe 3. Call Greg Ducato at Phoenix Transmission.

As for Monster...they're coming up all the time in search results because they're paying for it..it's called paid search. Don't waste your time. Cheap parts, suspect labor. I bought one of their top end 700R4s and it was...well...garbage. Greg did a full autopsy on it...documented in my build. But, if you're really thinking about doing a Monster trans for #6, you might as well start planning for #7 too.

EDIT: Here's what you get with a monster transmission...

Yeah, I have no idea why you would screw around with another builder when you know that Greg will do it and stand behind it.
Watching this and your build thread saga.
Your stubbornness is a bit infuriating. If your not going to bone up for a 4L80E like you need to, at least pay for a quality builder.

That’s a Texas sized 10-4.
I still don’t think a 4L80 is really required for what you are doing with it.
But at this point, I’d say send your case and new parts back to @Greg Ducato and get a trans that will stop failing.

I also feel like putting some torque management back into the tune wouldn’t be the worst idea with the way you drive.
