i got quick question i have an 86 k5 with 700/208 combo and my trans crossmember was cracked, so i pulled one off an 87 700/208 and my skidplate wont bolt up to the crossmember off of the 87 are they different. i dont have my old one here so i can't compare and help is appreciated.

Yeah, 86 and 87 both can use the same t-case and rubber mount but the skid plates are different between both.

The 86 is more flatter and the 87 is like a V shape.

85 and 86 are the only years that share the same plates.

87 shares plates up to 91.
