Transmission going bad??

i got a 90 jimmy with 81,000 miles on it. I got a 700r , i think it might be going bad. the owner before me put a shift kit in it, when i put it in drive it jumps in to gear, and when am in reverse or neutral there is a clicking noise. when i hit the gas it seens kind of ruff. is t /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifhere some kind of rebuild kit or something that i can put in or much much will it cost to get it rebuild somewhere

kinda sounds like worn rear end, or worn u joints.

i had mine rebuilt about 2 months ago, cost $1700, but that was for a beefy rebuild. and it has a 12 month, 24K warranty. i had quotes from $1000 up to $2200 to get mine done. the reason i went where i did, was the shop had been open for 40 years, and i had a lot of people refer me there.

nah i dont think its the rear end just had that replaced

I had one done in Flint at a shop that I was refered to by everybody that I knew for $989, including a 12mo 12,000 mile full R&R warranty. I've only put about 3000 mile on it since then, but I'm happy with the rebuild.
