transmission help

Im buying a 94 z71 4x4 for 400.00 bucks it has a tranny issue does not have reverse ....will drive foward but nothing in reverse ....i cant find a good used trans is there a different one i could use? I want to sell it when its fixed to make small profit or keep for fishing truck. Please help.

I assume it is an automatic transmission. Why don't you pull out the tranny and have it rebuilt? It isn't anymore work than swapping in a different transmission and then you know you have a good transmission.
