I'm getting ready to replace the transmission mount and install the cross member correctly on my '88 K5. The previous owner, during and engine swap, installed the crossmember with spacers between the cross member and the frame which I have heard is typically done to adjust for a suspension lift. My truck has no lift. When I adjust is there anything I need to check in the process - my thought is:

- I need to loosen the linkage for the gear selector and retighten when repositioned.
- I should eye ball the distributor during the adjustment to make sure it clears the firewall.

Is there anything I should be thinking about?

Thanks,
Joe

If you remove the spacers and put them back on top/bottom of the assembly where they belong, you will actually be moving the dist away from the firewall.

The t-case shifter linkage may not even need adjustment as the case will only be moving upward by about an inch. Will be good to check just in case.

Only other things to check, maybe snug up the t-case to trans adapter bolts. Check driveshaft u-joints, make sure they are in good condition.
