My wife has a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr with about 50K miles on it. It's a V-6 with a four speed auto. It's been an okay car for her so far, but every so often, the transmission will have problems shifting from gear to gear while driving down the road.

It'll stay in first gear while accelerating, even when lifting off the gas. Or sometimes, it'll shift really quickly back in forth between gears several times while accelerating.

I've drained and changed her trans fluid twice and there's no filter. (that one got me too. No pan either). It's not throwing any codes either. Any ideas?

May have found the problem. Ford sent out a Technical Service Bulletin.

I bet this is something that they're not going to cover on a 50K mile car.
