problem is that theres alot of other stuff in a 700r4 that could be going bad or is bad. Cracked or broken sungear shell, smoked clutches due to wrong TV cable adjustment, you just dont know.
From my experience the 700's are alot harder to make work correctly than a TH350 or th400 is, If you buy it as core thats one thing, but I wouldnt expect much from a $100 700r4 other than parts.
