I recently took my K5 in to have the transmission looked at . was leaking like a seive out the front. I took it to a buddy of mine at Midwest Gillette Transmision, Ken is his name. I figured it was a front seal or the torque converter. When they opened it up it was most definately the front seal, but we noticed that the pan had alot of debris form the clutches. Seeing that I knew it was only a matter of time on the 700r4.
So I told Ken to rebuild it for me , told him my applications and driving style and he said he would take care of me .. AND BOY DID HE.

He installed the following:
Transgo 2&3 reprogramming kit. Allows up and down shift to any gear at any rpm and will hold any gear at any rpm. but allows normal operation in Od.
Beast sun shell
Raybestos Blute plate kit
Colleen steels
5 pinion Planetaries
36 element sprague
Kevlar 2 &4 band
13 vane pump
and a Recon stall converter1400-1800 range
He filled it with amsoil as well
all for 1435 cash out the door .

the whole truck shakes when it hits under torque.. but rides ok if you keep your foot out of it.
Cant wait to get it out wheeling again to try it out fully.

WOW, now if only the rest of the truck was up to that......

yes Kolene sorry. I spelled it wrong.
as far as the sprag , I dont know , that was what i was told.
I am not a transmission guy in the least . is why i took it someplace to have the work done.

The reason I asked was I've only seen 29 elements for a 700r4 sprag. 36 elements is a THM400/4L80E thing.:waytogo:
