Hey can anyone tell me if I'm supposed to have an o ring on the dip stick tube, where it enters the trans? My blazer will not stop leaking fluid from that seal.... It's not that bad, just every now and then... But it bothers me. Thanks

2 diffrent tubes and seals over the years.

1st is yes oring seal. id the tube style by a full 360* ring for the oring to sit in. best to install no oil in pan and 100% dry / clean area were it goes. then also rtv around 360* tube to tranny case. let this dry for full 24hrs. full tranny and enjoy.

2nd style is thinner end tip NO oring seal grove at the bottom. this takes a big rubber sleave to fit in tranny. install low oil and 100% dry. then tiny bit of oil just to lube IF needed after dry fit first on the tube and fill and enjoy.

Thanks! Guess I should have said it was a 1972 with a 350 trans. But thanks for the info. I'm going to take a better look at it tomorrow. This site is the best, some one always knows the answer. Or at least knows where to find it.

Thanks guys!
