could putting in 1 pt. to much tranmission fluid cause the trany to act funny like slipping?

no.a bad trans would though. or if you just serviced it, I would check and make sure the filter is in correctly.

No service was done. My son and I checked the level and it showed 1 pint low. We added 1 pint and then he drove around for a while and I rechecked it, It showed that it was a little past the hatch marks

We hadn"t checked for a while and we should have warmed it up first then we wouldn"t have added a pint. It has 11700 miles and it is an 88 K5. Also, The fluid doesn"t seem burned at all

I assume thats 117000 miles on it? big tires? no gear change? did you happen to mess with the tranny cable? at those miles, front pumps tend to fail, and thats everything to a 700-r4.

nope, It wasn't slipping before I added and yes that's 117,000 miles Yes big tires (38")No gear change and didn't touch any cables

you could always pull the dipstick tube out of the tranny and let it drain til you're back to level again

Don't know if that's a good idea but i did it and it worked for me :D
