Most full Hydo steers i saw while seaching have Heims at the connection of the mini tie rods and the steer arms (I have high steer i want to keep) or knuckles. I am thinking i can cut my ORD high steer tie rod down and make the connecing tie rods out of it as it is very stout. my question is has any one used the factory style TRE with this kind of set up? they are the Large GM type. Any one have a breakage issue with these?

btw, D60 w/ARB and 38.5 boggers

Ive never seen anyone try it... which either means a) you're a pioneer and no one thought of doing it or b) its not a good idea. Considering TREs are stock stuff and would be "on hand" for anyone and everyone that ever converted to full hydro, I'd guess "b" is the answer... but you'd have to talk to an engineer to know why TREs aren't good in that app.
