The alluminim trim peice on tailgate on my 1991 K Blazer is faded (oxidized). What can I do to bring it back to life? can it be painted?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure there is a clear coat on it that you would need to remove then buff out the piece then re clear coat it again so it won't tarnish.

If it's clear coated then treat it like oxidized paint - use some white rubbing compound and buff it out. If it's not coated and is really aluminum, you can shine it up with some 0000 steel wool.

I have found that Flitz is awesome on Aluminum. Combine it with their buff Chammy wheel for a drill and you will have that thing bright and shiny in no time flat.
