Tremec TR-4050 Install

From my experience, Autozone is like Harbor Freight, I won't use anything from there unless I plan to throw it away.

As for this instance, I am reminded of the Tom Petty song.....Even Autozone Gets Lucky Sometimes

I still can't use it, however, I will take note and not use one that uses the clip.

I generally stay away from Duralast, but in this case it is AP branded, as per my linked post. So it would seem they're rebaggiing them for a lot less$$.

The clutch I took off as well as the LS7 I put on are/were stamped as Luk. And are fine.

It seems to me like the majority of them have AP on the casting they use, but the other parts do not appear the same.

This could mean the bearings, springs, wear points are lesser quality even if they use the same casting for the base, it's hard to know for sure.

I won't buy duralast, I used them initially when I was younger and got tired of using the warranty every year for stuff I bought at autozone. I'd rather not have to put a new one on even if it's on warranty.

I agree.
I would rather get it done once with a part that actually will last instead of breaking down multiple times and wasting my labor many times and getting a free cheap replacement

Well, I bought the GM one because the Centerforce clutch had a warning that some aftermarket slave cylinders can hit the centrifugal weights on the clutch.

I have all the parts for the trans/BBC interface, I need to dry test fit them yet...

Here is the NP205 input shaft from NWF. Its a very nice piece, they have excellent machining.

I left the residue from the oily paper on it, until I clean and install it during the NP205 rebuild.

This input shaft will work directly with the TR4050 output shaft without an adaptor.

I suppose if you needed an NP208 or 241 Tcase you could possible just use a Dodge version and bolt it right up, but I haven't tried it myself. I also haven't looked to see what output shafts the Dodge version came with and if they would work with the GM flanges and slip yokes, etc.
