Tremendous Personal Sacrifice (Pics)

Well, I may not have a running truck... or shifters ... but dangit, I have a Doubler! :haha:

Shifters are still a coupla weeks out, but that gives me time to actually get the collection of parts I've been hoarding for a year or more ... into, well, some semblance of installed :D

Why butcher the floor? Install a body lift to get the clearance you need. ;)

Well, Desert Rat's issue, as it were, is that it's too long ... wow, that just SOUNDS wrong. Let me try that again!

Anyway, the 700 plus the doubler sticks farther back than his original setup; and I think he wants to cut his floor up anyway :haha:

Right on Desert Rat, it's a pleasure to read a clever and witty post for a change.

And I know what you're going through, the travail and burden of Doubler parts ordering, installation, not to mention the pressure of waiting for it to arrive via UPS. I am having to deal with all the same giddiness myself, as I just finished mine up. But man, those guys over at ORD make a tough thing a little easier for us to bear, don't they? ;)

After doing a body lift on my Bronco I had before, I'll never do one again. The ride was harsh, I had nothing but pains in the butt extending tubes, battery cables, shifter linkage, fan shroud, etc. I'll just cut a few holes in the floor and fab up some sheetmetal to cover it later and weld it in. I'll be doing Line-X eventually inside so it won't be a big deal.

Dremu, did you clock your NP205 or stay in stock position? It looks like it is clocked up. I kept mine in stock rotation since front driveline angles were an issue and I didn't want to lose the gains I got by moving the front TC output back a ways by then moving the output up higher. Besides, length doesn't matter anyways, right? Ask any guy (not a girl though) and they will agree  For mtn.burb, ORD has always taken very good care of me and they surprised me again with the speed in which I got my stuff this time. Steve is always willing to take some time to chat on the phone and make sure everything is right. He and Jesse at HAD have unsurpassed customer service.

One of my ideas for gaining space is simply to create a cover farther back on the tranny tunnel/floor similar to the cover that currently bolts in place over the TC on the front floorboards. It won't be quite as tall though. I am going to do a Tuffy center console so I will simply raise the center section of the floor, level it, and then put the Tuffy console on top of that. I'll even have the advantage of having the center console a couple of inches higher which I actually prefer.

Stephen said I should do the 2" rotation based on all the questions he asked me ... I forget which question went with what answer. :dunno:

You've got waaay more lift than I do, anyway (there we go with that size thing again :haha: ) so I'm hoping to steer clear, as it were, of driveline vibes. I've no idea how I'm gonna pull this off by BlazerFest... somehow I don't wanna go if I don't have a front driveshaft! We'll see, worst case I'll drive up and see Jesse in person :D

And I tell you, YOU don't know personal sacrifice until you try and install those freaking snap rings... :angryfire: ... you SO did the smart thing ordering it pre-assembled. Cheap ole me... :haha:

Like a MasterCard commercial:

Long distance phone call to ORD to have Stephen be nice to me when I ask dumb question ... $such-and-such

Visit to the chiropractor to undo the damage done by disassembling the NP203 ... $such-and-such (thankfully I only have a co-pay :) )

... you not having to do those freaking huge snap rings ... priceless. Aargh. :D
