Ok Ive done a million u joints before, but never the stock ones with the clips on outside of the caps. They are rusted as crap and the ends have already broken off. Anyone have any neat little tricks to get them out??

NO do not try beating on the U-joint until you have removed the clips or you will ruin the driveshaft. Carefully tap on the U-joint lightly to help loosen the clips then try removing the broken clips. Pry at them with a screw driver if you have to but DO NOT BEAT on the driveshaft.

i was talking about after the clips were out...i usually use a screwdriver too and a pair of needlenose plyers...

ball joint remover and installer, super fast and super easy way to work u-joints, removing and installing, rent it from Autozone,

I would torch the center out of the U-joint, then hammer the caps towards the center until they are out. Then you should have plenty of room to get at the remaining part of the clip to get it out. Good luck.

I used a socket and ball pean hammer...the socket was squished by the time I was done...
