well I finally got a garage so I can work on the burb properly.
I am trimming the rockers this week in favor of 2x4x .188 tube about 2 below the lower hinge.
Its a pain so far lots of braces in the pillars and floor. It probbly would be easier to just leave the door seal area alone and not go too high but what fun would that be.

Looking good, good to see some action over here in the burb forum.

Im going to remove the spare tire tub and floor the hole left there. then Im going to trim up there as much as possible. I wish burb were not so long but I love the storage area. did you finish up the rock slider fab?

got one side finished and 2/3 of the driver side cut. The next time I go to town, Ill some angle to help support it.
I think I am getting better at this, the 2nd side is going much faster and easier.

Wow, talk about putting a sub on a diet AND chopping some fat outta the middle. That's cool. I was considering cutting the rockers out of my pickup, and your pics are pushing me even closer to doing it.

Cut a hole in the floor for the fuel tank today.

I took a pic but, its dark and just looks like a square hole in the floor the size of a gas tank

Man Im digging that. I want to do the same, just not ready to take the saw to her yet. have to finish my k5 first.

I got the gas tank in and finished the cuttings today.

Went to start it and the batt was dead :doah:

I ordered some new shims from JKW but, one got lost in the mail :(
I just need to remove some leaves and the zero rate to make the rear lower. Charge the batt and mount the toolbox and Ill be ready for the hammers next weekend :saweet:

Nice work.

How much are you going to have to take out of the bottom of the doors.

I am about to do just this same thing to my Burb, and I want to gain some more front and fender area.

Keep up the good work!

I am going to just weld some sheet metal to fill the open bedsides, one day :surepal:
I will need to cut about 2" off the inner door seal area on the doors. Not sure if I will ever put the doors back on. We already had our one time rain for the year.
no real progress since friday, wifey had a party on sat, nothing productive was done on sunday :doah:
