Have you guys seen these "ClearGearz" diff covers? It's like a swatch truck. I want some for valve covers too.

Yeah, they're great for the street or RJF's rig /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gifbut if you put it on a trail rig the only thing you are gonna watch is your gear oil leak all over the rocks

Holy bling! Their web site says clear valve covers are coming! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I'm joking, but I'm serious too. That'd be pretty cool.

If you trust the manufacturer, they're supposed to be strong. I spose they won't dent like steel though, they'll just crack. Plus probably get scratched up so much they'd be impossible to see through anyway... I'm waiting on valve covers.

Looks nice! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Be carefull with differential covers. They are stamped into the shapes they are in for a reason. It helps direct gear oil into proper places. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Peterson's did a comparison between a few aftermarket diff covers a while back. I think they managed to get the Clear Gearz cover to dent in when they ran it over with a bulldozer or something, but they said it wouldn't have happened on an axle with the ring gear behind it. i think it looks cool too, but for the price i'd just rather make my own...especially since they don't make them for Eaton axles, so I would just have it on the front and it would look gay.

Couple of thoughts
1st- If you will not be wheelin they will be fine on the pavement. I don't see how it could possibly last off road.
2nd- We have see-through covers on trailer axles (18 wheelers). After a while the oil covers the see-through covers and they might as well be metal, except they crack.

if you come across any hub covers that are made of polycarbonite let me know
just because one plastic sucks doesnt mean they all do

Off-Road Warrior'

Do a little research and you will see. I found out via a phone calls to differential shops. Give it a try! Also the shapes (ribs) add strength. Some covers are thinner thus weaker than others as well. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

This thing is polycarbonate.

Na, all show no go!

It is so funny to me to see people drive rigs that look like that don't even touch dirt. Most of us would waste it in the rough. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif
