So the other day my truck randomly backfired on me or something, and since then if I go past about 1/3 throttle the truck will start to go then cut off for a split second then start going again. I changed out the fuel filter hoping that it was just plugged up a little but that didn't help. I'm really hoping that it's not a fuel pump. If anyone has any other ideas that would be awesome. Truck is a 90 Jimmy with the 5.7. Thanks guys.

Popping like that can a lean condition. Make sure the filter is install the correct direction (if not the pump can collapse it). Might be a fuel supply prob. My bro in law had a bad fuel line off the pump, which can act like a bad pump as well.

I had the same problem the other day. It was like a lack of, bog down, or almost like a stalling engine when I punched the throttle to get around someone. The problem hasnt Occured since i filled up the tank something maybe going bad. The feedback I've been getting was that it has something todo with fuel pump/filter. I did some research and someone also said maybe a bad cat converter but I'm not sure on that but I'm no expert.
