I have a 570 street avenger on my K5. I had it on there for about a year or so, never had any issues, came pretty much ready to run outa the box.
And then one day I had all kind of weird issues with my lights dimming and I pop'd a 150a fuse on my aux battery wiring, got all that sorted out, but now I cant get the choke to work right on the carb.
I got a new choke cap. Ive got 12v from the wire hitting the choke cap. I was on the phone with Holley, they walked me thru it all. Problem is, you only get one shot at this to see if it works, cuz once the motor is warmed up, choke wont set. I can get my truck running great once its warm, but when its cold, the choke just wont set. Im guessing I just need to d!ck with it more.
I was at the speedshop and the dude said to adjust the choke with motor warmed up, said once motor is warmed up to have the choke plates standing up (open position). they seem to always been in the position all the time anyways, lol. so not sure how to adjust choke this way. when on the phone with holley, they said with motor cold, to have the plate only open 1/4 of the way and the choke should be adjusted. I did this and still had issues of it not setting. I can sometimes get it to set if I monkey with the throttle on the carb and moving the red plastic cam thingy behind the choke by hand, but would be nice to have this do what its suppose to.
On a cold engine, when I turn the key on, but not start it, the choke plate does NOT move, even if I press the gas pedal all the way to floor.
