trouble with a 350 tbi.. again

The more I see of your test bench I think I need to make one. How much more can you do with this? I can see checking parts, firing injectors, looks like your spark is firing onto the manifold.. :eek1:

Does it help at all with getting a chip ready for a conversion?

The best reason / function for the the test bench is to verify the fabricated wiring harness. I build my own EFI wiring harness. The test bench is really just a conformation that computer, sensors, relays, injectors, power, and ground wires are correctly connected.

To check for spark, I ground a single spark plug (connected directly to the coil) to the intake manifold. The intake manifold has a ground wire from the battery, similar to the way the ground wire is connected in a vehicle. I learned that connecting the spark plug directly to the coil prevents any cross sparking between the distributor cap terminals.:doah:

I've connected my AutoXray scan tool to the ALDL of the wiring harness to check to make sure the EFI system is working correctly and the scan tool is working to VIN number of the ECM. I've also done data logging with an EFI system on the test bench.

To me the EFI test bench is nothing more than just an EFI system fabricators' tool, kind of like a caliper is a tool for a machinist. I've said this before, "In God I Trust" everything else gets measured.:waytogo:

That kinda sums it up! I need one. I would avoid hours of troubleshooting if I sat in my warm shop and tested a system! Since I build them for freinds as well, I think I will just say bring it here, bench set it up. OK here put it on and if it doesn't run it's very few things!

Thanks! I started already. After I get a stock TBI system done I can hook up my six cylinder MPFI maifold to wire injectors and see if I can make the Jeep MAP, TPS and I forget what else is on the 2000 TPI/MPFI intake for my 258 with 4.0L head. May have to machine on a GM throttle body... still have not chosen a ECM...

well she runs. really poor but she does.. giving it a tune up now.. some reason the lights dont work now. :( after she runs good that the next step.

Any trouble codes or is the check engine light on? With the engine running, the engine might set a trouble code? Sometimes the trouble code will be indicate why the engine is running poorly? The tune up sounds like a good idea.
