Troubleshoot Burning Smell

Hi All,

I went offroading this weekend in my 91 Suburban V1500. My engine temp and trans temp were at normal levels, but I would still smell something running extremely hot or burning the whole time. Power steering fluid was at a normal level. Trans and engine oil are normal. The power steering intermittently goes out, especially when I am turning and there is no load on the engine This happens all the time, not just offroading. As soon as I hit the gas the power steering comes back. What do you guys thing? Need to replace the power steering pump? Thanks!

I just realized I am in the totally wrong section. Doh....

Yea it smells like burning fluid, or a hot fluid smell. No noticeable leaks.
